This picture was the first Google Image Search result for "food blog."

So, here is my plan: I want to find my niche. What do I have to say, and for whom is it relevant? Based on my list of potential blogging areas, and inspired by the approach adopted by Hangry Pants, I’ve decided to test-drive various blogging fields. So, here is my schedule:

March 1st – March 5th: Food blogging (vegan meals/baking, raw food)

March 8th – 12th: Design (interior, graphic, etc.)

March 15th – 19th: Academia (current research, new work, etc.)

March 22nd – 26th: Beauty (product reviews, fashion, hair, etc.)

March 29th – April 2nd: Mommy blogging (this one makes me want to puke, but I’m going to try it anyway)

The goal is to update daily in each of these subjects, with Saturday off, and then on Sundays I’ll post my thoughts. By the second week of April I hope to have picked my focus! I suspect all of my choices will be informed by feminist theory, environmental awareness, and all will probably be intimately related to my personal life because (let’s face it) I’m constantly preoccupied with capital-M-Me.

So, tomorrow I will start food blogging. I’m looking forward to it!

Good luck with your blogging strategy. I’m intrigued by the idea of choosing areas in which to blog the way you have — my primary goal for the moment is just to get three to four updates out a week and keep it going as I build an audience. It’s always been the discipline of it that’s tanked me.

I’m not sure how it will pan out yet! Hopefully I’ll find something that works for me. Good luck staying motivated on your blog – I briefly perused it. It seems interesting (even if it’s not my area).

Thanks for stopping by. Trust me, I’m a bit of a writer in search of a area right now. Key areas I’m writing about now are food and literature, but I’m trying to find a different angle on things through writing. Who knows where the road will take us…
